Back To School With The Justice For Laddie Foundation
Summer has come to a warm, cheerful end, making way for the youngsters' anticipated back-to-school season. Laddie's grandma, Lucy Fleming, and his mom, Bryony Bradley, fondly remember his excitement to return to school, where he would learn and spend time with his friends, such as Tay, whom he considered a brother.
Laddie was robbed of a high school experience when his life was taken away, but we believe his most treasured memories were made during playtime & sports day at Cayo Christian Academy where he attended Primary School.
Justice For Laddie Foundation's first ever back to school initiative
Laddie, you are loved and always present; in your memory, the Justice For Laddie Foundation held itsĀ first-ever back-to-school initiative.
With the assistance of The Lodge At Chaa Creek Guest Services team, its food and beverage team, the foundation's Chair, Mrs. Lucy Fleming, and the ERA Plaza Department Store that generously co-sponsored the initiative, it took shape, and a date was set.
On Wednesday, August 30th, 2023, Forty one children and their parents all from the rural community of Corozalito in the Cayo District gathered to participate in a fun morning event.
That included games such as lime and spoon,
sack race,
tug of war,
Apple bobbing
Musical Chairs,
and finishing off with snack time!
At the end of the event each child was gifted a schoolbag filled with much-needed school supplies.
Somos Laddie
Today, this short phrase couldn't be more accurate. Nothing can bring back our beloved boy, but we hope that our actions as the Justice For Laddie Foundation, small as they may be, impact the lives of the Belizean youths who will be the decision-makers of tomorrow.
We want to wish good luck to all the students returning to school!
